— The most common first upgrade
CKG scoops get a lot of people into serious beach hunting without a lot of money, and the basket itself holds up better than the handle it ships with. This is the single most common upgrade path we see: the scoop is fine, the handle is the weak link, so replace the handle.
Where it gets used
Mixed beach and freshwater. CKG owners tend to be newer to scoop hunting and are usually upgrading a working setup one piece at a time rather than buying a premium scoop outright.
— Fitment
What it fits.
- Fits CKG scoops using the standard CKG handle mount.
- Overall length 46 1/2", carbon-fiber tube with a 2.5mm wall.
- ABS-cored lower section takes the bolt-through load at the basket.
- Bolts through the mount's existing holes; drill the handle to match.
Not sure what mount you have? Send Steve a photo and he'll confirm the fit before you order.
— Why bother
What changes.
- 01The stock handle is usually the first thing to flex or corrode — the basket generally isn't.
- 02You keep the scoop you already own and fix the part that's actually limiting it.
- 03At $135 it's a fraction of what a premium scoop costs, and it carries over if you upgrade baskets later.
